Overview of Statistics
Chairperson: Dr. Shaista Ismat
Department of Statistics was established in 1979. At start there were two teachers and 20 students in statistics department. The department has been advanced by hard efforts of the teachers.
Today there are eight teachers and two Lab Assistants in this department. About 200 students have been enrolled in BS Statistics (Four Year Program)/ M.Sc. (Two Year Program). The Statistics department has also published 11 books and many research papers in various renowned journals.
Mission:
The mission of the Department of Statistics is to contribute to the overall objectives of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences and Technology and the Affiliated Colleges through excellence in research and education in the Statistical Sciences and through service to the university community, statistical profession, and society at large.
